No, the result is just as badDoes Direct3D or OpenGL video output module work any better?
Yes, I restart every time I make a change and check to see if the changes were applied. I have enabled GPU decoding. This was also fully functional with 1.1.First of all did you restart vlc after having changed the preferences?
Did you try to enable GPU decoding? Did this file was played correctly by vlc 1.1? What kind codecs does it use and what is your configuration?
Nope, sorry, still choppy...Does it help if you rename libsamplerate.dll to libsamplerate.dll2 ?
With your specs you can play Battlefield 3 in Ultra settings easily but you can't play a video without stuttering. I'm having the same problem.Hello,
just registered to share my own experience with VLC 2.0. As other users have already pointed out, the new VLC version shows important stuttering when playing videos. This stuttering is apparent in most videos, but it's specially noticeable in hi-def ones. For example, the debug log I get when playing the Guild Wars 2 trailer "Epic Struggle" (WMV, 1080p, no GPU acceleration activated in VLC) is similar to this:
main warning: picture is too late to be displayed (missing 57 ms)

In my particular case, if I activate the GPU acceleration options in VLC, the stuttering gets MUCH worse. Making file cache bigger and renaming "libsamplerate_plugin.dll" didn't help at all.
My computer specs:
- Windows 7 x64 SP1
- Intel Core i7 940 @ 3GHz
- 9GB RAM
- NVidia GTX 580
In the same conditions, VLC 1.1.11 presents none of this problems.

Ok, the issue for both of you is the number of threads. Reduce it to 4, it should work (this will be the default in 2.0.1)With your specs you can play Battlefield 3 in Ultra settings easily but you can't play a video without stuttering. I'm having the same problem.Hello,
