Play multiple DVD audio streams at once?

Postby peanutismint » 11 Feb 2012 04:22

A preliminary caution, this is probably going to sound really stupid....

I'm running a film event at my place of work and we're hoping to use a collection of wireless headphones for the audience to listen to the movie's audio, kind of like a 'Silent Disco'.

The headphones we have can tune into two separate audio channels by flicking a switch on the headset, so I was wondering whether we could have it set up so that we have the movie audio/soundtrack on one channel and a director's commentary on the other channel... Obviously we'd need two audio outputs from our PC, but I'm wondering if there's a way to have VLC output one stream to one audio device and another stream to another simultaneously....

Any chance??!

Single VLC instance can only have one audio output. But you can run multiple VLC instances same time, and if netsync works correctly, then you might be able to sync them.
