VLC video issues, green screen

Postby ktimekiller » 15 Jan 2012 12:12

When playing certain videos, I encounter an issue where the audio is fine but the video does not display and all I get is a green screen.

I consulted http://wiki.videolan.org/WindowsFAQ-1.1 ... _output.3F for the solution, but it did not solve my issue.

The odd thing is that the videos which I cannot play and can play do not differ in codec.
Both usable and unusable videos are the following

H264 - MPEG - 4 AVC
SSA subtitles
MPEG AAC audio

I am on Windows 7 running on the latest VLC.

EDIT: It seems that the videos that I have trouble viewing are in "10bit" though I am not knowledgeable in codecs and encoding to know what this means, I hope this bit of information helps.

To play 10bits H264 you have to get vlc 1.2-rc1 at http://nightlies.videolan.org/build/win ... 0115-0207/
