How to set mouse button as keyboard shortcut does?

I looking everywhere and I found nothing: How to configure the mouse button #3 to 'Short back jump' and mouse button #4 to 'Short forth jump' ?'

I can set keyboard shortcut in the setting but nothing for mouse button.... AS GOMPLAYER DOES.

Please, help me. I'm really desperate. (I hate gomplayer, it crash all the time.)

You can't bind mouse buttons with VLC. But you can use some separate tool to bind mouse buttons to certain keyboard keys, which you can then use with VLC.

ok.... but HOW? The only thing that the setting menu show about shortcuts is ONE option for the mouse' wheel... and NOTHING for the mouse' buttons.

The problem still persists with the latest versions.

VLC doesn't recognize mouse side buttons.
