Teacher- how to broadcast my screen

Postby sam63 » 11 Jan 2012 03:17

I'm a teacher that bought 33 laptops for my 5th grade students (used - all I could afford.) I need to use the 8.6i version that is on my teacher's computer with the same version on the student's laptops. I would like to multicast my screen as well as use my microphone (possibly the audio output from the computer too.) Can VLC do this? If so, can you help me by showing me the command line to show my screen using my mic?

Thanks for helping my classroom,
Scott

PS. Everytime I try to upgrade to a newer version, it doesn't seem to work with my existing tutorial command lines.

VLC GUI and command-line options and GUIs have changed a lot between VLC 0.8.x -> 1.1.x

And yes, you can stream the desktop and audio, but it somewhat difficult, since mixing screen input with directshow input (for audio) doesn't work. So you have to use directshow desktop capture program, chain VLC instances or something similar.
