Mine did the same a few days ago but for no apparent reason. I was using Corel Draw at the time. Then when I went to playa video it said it crashed. Now it has the message it gave you everytime and says Windows will let you know when there is a solution. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it off this site again and yet it still is doing the same thing. I tried everything in the FAQ and help, reset preferences, there is no where that says VERBOSITY to increase it. What do I do now? I have spent hours messing with this.

No, if someone can read my reply to the post above hereby the other user, or the other post I put in the forum asking for help under VLC troubleshooting for windows that says "VLC crashes and never opens every time" in which I pasted the message it was giving me, this has nothing to do with youtube for me. I did not have the Internet hooked up at the time it crashed.I was using Corel at the time. The time I use VLC is with netflix dvds that media player won't open due to it not being able to open not copyright protected files by turning on analog protection. That's what it says. I tried to update Windows media Player like it said to do but couldn't for some reason, so in the meantime I asked justanswer and they said use VLC so I went here and now I like it better than Media Player in some ways and it has no trouble at all until now.

But I have now spent yesterday and today trying to get it to work again with no success and tried everything on this forum after searching extensively for a solution.

how can i download that into my computer ?
Right click the link, select Save link as... (or similar option)

the save it somewhere, and go to lua folder of your VLC installation directory (usually something like C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\lua), delete the youtube.lua and copy the new one there.

lua is a script language, vlc uses it to parse the html page and find the relevant info to play the video.
