Where may I get the x264 - 64 bits version codec?

I am trying to edit a video in SONY VEGAS but is not able to open the video because I need a codec.
The codec I need is x264 - 64 bits version.
I tried to download from here...

But if I press the green botton, what I download is the source code and I need the EXE file to install it...

There is another website offering the codec, this one...

I've downloaded a file x264.exe of 9,7 MB and when I started it, nothing happened, a little black window opened and closed fast... but no installation at all...

I also tried this website...

And the codec is available here...

But that codec gives me a lot of problems... the HD videos are not shown okay, they show as if they were pixelated with a lot of blocs... so I had to uninstall it...

Please, someone could help me to get this codec?

x264 is an ENCODER. It won't help your Sony Vegas to open videos. You need a DECODER for that.

And this isn't VLC related issue.

I posted it here, because I think the videolan team did the codec, not sure about that
