I've created a new ticket for it https://trac.videolan.org/vlc/ticket/5181 and I'd already created one in the past https://trac.videolan.org/vlc/ticket/3997 which never seemed to have anything happen to it. But I am not on the VLC-Devel mailing list, so it is not easy for me to make a post to it.
If anyone else is on the Devel mailing list or has rights to GIT please feel free to submit this small change.

Patch has now been applied to source, so silent install should succeed now:

hi, can someone tell me which version is the first "fixed" version?

it looks like the installation of the nighly builds (i've tested 1.2.0-pre2-20111124-0150) is full silent.. the installation of 1.1.11 not..

1.2.0 and 1.1.x use different source code trees. I would guess that patch wasn't applied to 1.1.x tree.

Does anyone have GIT access to add this patch to the 1.1.x tree?

Well VLC 1.1.x doesn't have maintainer anymore, since J-B don't want to fix it anymore, so applying that to the tree seems somewhat pointless now.

Hi all.

I am trying to deploy VLC 3.0.1 to about 1000 Windows 10 computers using a Powershell script packaged in an SCCM application. As part of the installation, the script creates a shortcut on the Start Menu with the '--no-qt-privacy-ask --no-qt-updates-notif' switches, that effectively disables the prompt from appearing when the application is launched from that shortcut. However, if VLC is launched first by opening a media file, the "Privacy and Network Access Policy" prompt is still displayed. How can I get this prompt to be disabled when the application is first launched by clicking on a media file? I am posting in this thread because it seems this is the question the original poster had, which wasn't answered as far as I can tell. We use the standard VLC .exe installer; we do not write our own .bat files. Thanks in advance for assistance, and please let me know if I need to provide more information.
