MKV

Postby willj » 21 Nov 2011 12:15

Hi,

I have the latest version I could find of VLC (1.1.11) and I can't play any .mkv files. They open fine and the sound is fine, but image is all jumpy, pixelated at times, and lags. I have searched the forums for this issue and although have found many threads about .mkv nothing seems to answer this question.
I run windows XP.

Thanks

The MKV demux has been reworked in 1.2 available as nightly build on http://nightlies.videolan.org/ I suggest you to try it.
Beware it's not much tested on XP by devs.

Thanks for your reply. Not sure I'd want to try that, do you know when an official release of 1.2 might be available?

It might take few weeks or few months. There are still some major issues left.
