Yes you can. Click the 1.00x in the GUI and select the speed.

No, you do not understand
I need speed more than standard x31.25.
Can I change the speed in the console or something like that?

And why do you need this?
(on my computer 16x plays OK but at 31.25x VLC almost hangs (high HDD activity))

;) Only Data from Star Trek can read anything at speed >32x

You can set speed via command-line using

Code: Select all

--rate=<float> Playback speed This defines the playback speed (nominal speed is 1.0).

It's me again.
I have a small problem. First a little explanation: I work as a security guard and I need to see a lot of video from surveillance cameras and a very large amount of time (27 cameras 24 / 7)
View all this is necessary only in a slideshow. Was anyone in the building or not.

If I scored in the console more than vlc - "rate = 1000" program shuts down. This can be fixed?

log:

mark@ubuntu:~$ vlc --"rate=2000"

And more. At speeds> x4 sound completely off. This can be turned off? Umplayer sound travels at high speeds.

no means are already at the limit or no without "__"? If second, it's nothing is changed.
I do understand that the request is VERY non-standard.

I'm sorry if it looks intrusive. Since the response to either negatively or positively not, I leave it.
I was left with three questions:
Why a program crashes when I try to run the video at more than 1000. Even 1001. This is a set limit, or what? 1000 more than enough. I'm just curious
2 Can I run a console a few windows, or at least do that speed is not a one-time, and a constant standard.
3 Can I increase the playback sound with x4 to x8-x32. Can I adjust the volume of individual channels (left, right)?
That's all I need.

2 ... or at least do that speed is not a one-time, and a constant standard.
That question was already answered to you (and not by me) - read your own thread from the beginning!

3 Can I increase the playback sound with x4 to x8-x32 ... ?
I think VLC do not accept more than 400% (1024 raw value) for volume (maybe to not distort the sound)

There are other ways to increase the volume:
- In OS increase to the Max the Master and Wave volume
- Use external amplifier (usually embedded in a speaker system)

(and be careful to not "blow-up" you ears ;) )

P.S.
And I'm sure there are smarter ways to check "Was anyone in the building or not."
If your videos usually show only unmoving "Walls and Doors" - there have to exist software which searches-for/skip-to the first/next different frame

No he was not. It was about the graphical interface. I was interested in the opportunity to make a given speed standard. From the specified command (vlc - rate) need to enter it into the console every time.
Use external amplifier (usually embedded in a speaker system)
Alas, I did not find.
For me, still perfect and comfortable version of the player. I just want to know whether this is possible or not.

Did not work. We (the other guys) tried.

Yes "he" was yes ;)

Alas, I did not find.
What you "did not find"?
A speaker system?

Any computer speaker system will do.
Or use home stereo system (with Line-in or Aux input).
Do you use only headphones directly to the computer?

I think it only works on windows
is enigma for me
http://s010.radikal.ru/i314/1111/40/0c486f7fcc05.jpg
I'm sure the video codec should be somewhere else, but it only succeeded to find.
I was looking for such a path: system - preferences.
I have not really found anything with the video settings, video cards, etc.
Or use home stereo system (with Line-in or Aux input).
I have a regular 2.0 speakers and I did not find such option in the settings. Maybe something I do not understand and you're talking about hardwere settings on the speakers. Although I do not understand how in the second case, you can adjust the sound level for each channel / speaker.
Maybe it's all because of Linux? I noticed that a topic not in wrong section only in a few days later. I think all of the fact that I opened many windows in my browser.

Strange, very strange - almost everything understood incorrectly
Would be more correctly "it"?
Would be more correctly to say the exact nickname of the person
(and by he I think you meant VLC_help. I used "he" to denote that my "he" is not the same person as your 'he')

I think it only works on windows ...

Image
Your screenshot is (as I think) from the OS (Ubuntu).
Nobody here talked about the OS settings
(if I talk about the OS I explicitly say this: "In OS increase to the Max the Master and Wave volume".
And I see (on your screenshot) that you can go over 100% for Master volume (= Output volume).
Maybe in Output tab you will see also Wave volume?
)

We talked about the VLC settings:

So in VLC you press Ctrl+P
then choose "● All"
then click Input / Codecs
and then change (type from the keyboard) the value for "Playback speed"

Image

Did you ever test that at speed 1000 you can see somebody crossing the room in the video?
I think VLC will skip many frames in high speed playback!

I have a regular 2.0 speakers and I did not find such option in the settings.
Line-in or Aux input are not settings - they are hardware/physical inputs for jacks at the back of any home stereo system (or portable cassette/disk player)
And for volume control and to balance left-right channels they have physical rotating or sliding knobs.

(Ru:
)

I found this after a few minutes in Google (do you know about ZoneMinder already?):
http://www.zoneminder.com/

"ZoneMinder is an integrated set of applications which provide a complete surveillance solution allowing capture, analysis, recording and monitoring of any CCTV or security cameras attached to a Linux based machine."

Zone Analysis Algorithm (how it searches for changes in the picture depending on your settings)
http://www.zoneminder.com/wiki/index.ph ... _Algorithm

Other similar software: Gspy
http://gspy.sourceforge.net/

"Special motion detection algorithms are used to reduce the size of the daily movies by eliminating pictures with similar content as well as the normal compression obtained via the mpeg process.
The result is a time lapse video per day with nonlinear time compression using only the images of interest"

By HE I mean the question. In English, usually he / she only refers to the person, not about the subject.
Preferences (CTRL+P) >> Show settings - All >> Input / Codecs: Playback speed [1,00]
I thought he meant the system configuration or a system codec. My mistake.
And I see (on your screenshot) that you can go over 100% for Master volume (= Output volume).
Maybe in Output tab you will see also Wave volume?
Yes, I know about it. But in this case I need a setup specifically for video and specifically for the channel.
I think VLC will skip many frames in high speed playback!
Yes. I have enough and 500-700 and I can see them all that is necessary. But I really wonder why the program is so fundamentally. 1000 and no one more.

Oh borscht ~
I do not understand Russian.

I feel so retarded (particularly with the release of the text in bold), but I still can not figure out where the columns are the controller for each channel. Only one of them has a wheel for volume control for both.
The guys from work have not yet come, but as far as I know the problem goes with spinning doors at the front entrance.

OK, I found a third-party program and take care of the channels

I was left with only two questions. Could sound move beyond the limit of x4 and video in x1000?

I think administration should know the answer.

This is a rather vague answer for me.
