Set the verbosity to 2 under tools -> messages, play the file again then post logs here. Or here if it's too long -> http://pastebin.com/

Also how are you trying to play file in vlc? Open disk, Advanced options, or what?

I would guess there are .m2ts files in these discs. You can open them with VLC.

Open vlc ->media ->open disk ->play (If that doesn't work remove dvd:// from the file name then play again)

I'm playing blu-ray right now and it works just fine.

Use Media -> Open file..., and locate the .m2ts files. Open Disc doesn't work with all AVCHD and Blu-ray discs.

Can you see the contents of this disk with Windows Explorer?
What files and folders do you see?

I CANNOT OPEN THE DISK WITH WINDOWS. WHEN I CLICK ON MEDIA.> OPEN FILE IT TAKES ME TO MY COMPUTER. WHEN I CLICK ON THE DRIVE ITS IN IT GIVES ME AN ERROR WHICH SAYS ITS MIGHT BE CORRUPTED OR IT ITS IN A FORMAT THAT CANNOT BE READ BY WINDOWS. ITS ONLY THE AVCHD DISCS THAT BI RECORD WITH MY CAMERA ALL THE OTHER DISCS WORK FINE IN VLC.

If Windows doesn't recognize the disc content, VLC cannot playback it. Usually finalizing the disc in the recording device helps.
