VLC Crash & No Progress Bar

Hi

Please let me know if this is not the right forum to post it, but I can't tell if it's a windows only problem or not.

Unfortunately I have recently come across a problem which I cannot find a solution for anywhere, so this is my last resort to ask on the forum.

I initially had version 1.0.9 and all was working fine, until recently it stopped working and by 'stop working', i mean the .mkv file still plays, however there is no progress bar.
I cannot skip forward to any part of the movie apart from pressing Fast Forward.
Then, whenever I try select a menu option (i.e. Tools, or Help) at the top, it crashes / closes VLC with no reason given.

This also occurs upon multiple reinstalls and trying 1.1.1 doesnt help either.

I hope you can help, let me know if I can provide any more information.

Delete %appdata%/vlc folder

Thanks for the reply Jean - but unfortunately it did not work.

It still crashes and doesn't show progress bar.

Does this happen only with that single file?
