Playlist contracts on search

I love to use the search feature on the playlist, but every time you change your search criteria the playlist you are currently using collapses again and you have to expand to see the search results. Is there a way to keep the playlist from collapsing every time I search or clear a search?

I've searched online for an answer, but perhaps due to the specific nature of this issue and clumsy wording on my part, I can find nothing to help me. Thanks!

AFAIK there isn't an option to change that.
