making a JPEG from screenshot

Postby bay23sydney » 14 Jul 2011 07:24

Hi All

I used VLC to make screenshots form a clip i had as i wanted photos.

The photos are a PNG Image not a jpeg
i renamed the photos with .jpg & i can view them using microsoft office picture manager or microsoft photo editor

my only problem is i am trying to upload them to photobookshop.com.au but the upload keeps crashing when it gets to these photos

any suggestions to get around this or transfer the png - jpg

Hi bay23sydney
Tools => Preferences => Video, then choose the jpg format :

Image

If you also want to modify the directory snapshot, choosing a more convenient one, you can do it too as seen in the pic.
Don't forget to save your preferences then quit Vlc and launch it again to apply all changes.
Good luck :D

And if you want quality JPEG captures, convert those .PNG files to JPG with paint.net or similar.
