VLC Or old guy issue?

Postby Old_Fogie » 20 May 2011 08:38

Hi -

The first songs/videos/flv files I played with VLC were located in the windows "Downloads" folder.
I decided these files were keepers, so I moved them to another hard drive.
But, now, every time I open VLC and try to open any of these files VLC looks for them in "Downloads"...
I've redirected it to where the files really are (E:\Music) and opened them from VLC several times.
But if I shut down VLC and reopen it and go to Media/Open File it always goes to "Downloads"..
I can live with this but it is a pain... Got any relief ? Thanks !

You can adjust the default folder via %appdata%\vlc\vlc-qt-interface.ini and edit filedialog-path value.
