Hi Guy's
I just installed the latest version of VLC media player Ver 1. 1.9 ( Windows ) onto a friends computer and the four buttons which include the Loop and Record buttons are missing. I am currently using Ver 1. 1. 6 on my own computer. Has this feature been removed from the newer version or is there some way to toggle these buttons on & off?

Thank you and forgive me if I seem rude but can you be a little more specific. I have looked at my version of VLC and can't find anything that say's "advanced toolbar".
My friend lives many miles away and is not very computer litrate and I will need to talk him through this,

The real name in Vlc menu is :
View => Advanced Controls
When this menu option is ticked, it will toggle on 4 buttons related to loop / record
