Slo-mo not working good, plus...

Postby dc2257 » 30 Apr 2011 02:13

When I first discovered it, the slo-mo worked great. Now after about a month, the audio/video go out of sync and it just doesn't work the same.
Also, I would love to know if the 'image adjust' can be locked in for all viewing? and also how to get subtitles to work -'browse for fonts' ( I select a font in the font folder and nothing happens!)
Thanks!

It isn't supported anymore. You have to use VLC 1.1.9 or similar.

OK, now I've got VLC 1.1.9 installed. It updated my fonts, and now I am able to select a font, but how do I get subtitles to work -when they are available and should be visible?

So subtitles aren't shown automatically?

No, and I can't quite figure out what I'm missing on the preference settings for subtitles.

What format is the input file and what kind of subtitles it contains?

What format is the input file and what kind of subtitles it contains?
VLC media file (.mkv) 720p.HDTV.x264-CTU
not sure how to determine what kind of subtitles it contains- is there a certain type of file that I should be looking for that definitely "contains" subtitles?

Tool called Mediainfo will reveal the facts. MKV subtitle can be created in such way that there isn't default subtitle track. If file is like that, you have to use VLC subtitle track options to make it play automatically.

Mediainfo revealed facts that I don't know how to use, like linking to audio/video websites that offer programs like XVID codec identifier: XviD, which I also cannot figure out how to use, as well as how to use VLC subtitle track options. :(

as well as how to use VLC subtitle track options
Tools -> Preferences... (Show settings: All) Input / Codecs, from there you can select default tracks that will be used for all files.
