Merged files are async

Postby sopron » 07 Apr 2011 21:50

Hello,

I merge a few files MKV (I got from HandBrake: all in sync) with mkvmerge gui.

I try to play the output MKV in VLC.

the first file is in sync.
but all files 2, 3, 4 (i.e. "appended" files) result in a bad bad async!

but...this is very strange! => on my BD standalone player and on my dvb receiver (used as media player), they playback very fine, all in sync!

this async premains on VLC player, tested on 3 different machines (vista32). so, the output of mkvmerge works fine on a standalone bd player and media player, not in VLC 1.1.8 (async). Why?

thanks a lot in advance.
best regards

Did you test VLC 1.2.0 nightly builds?

no. I dont have installed 1.2.0.
unofficial releases arouse fear in me.

at the moment I find a workaround:

when the second (third...) file starts, is async as described above. I wait a few seconds, then I move the cursor back (at the begin of the 2nd file) and I get this second appended file in sync! the same process for all others appended files. cursor back => sync.
only if I play the video without using the cursor back, the merged files are async (async starts with the second file until to the end).
