'Check For Updates' Bug

[mr_flot]

In version 1.1.8 when I click on 'Check For Updates' I am always getting the response 'An error occurred while checking for updates...'

I don't know if this is Windows specific or VLC specific.

Where do I start looking?
Avira AntiVir doesn't report anything.
Windows Firewall shows VLC as ok, no blocking.

I'm running Windows 7 Pro, 32 bit.

I have no idea about what's going on, no other software gives me problems when updating.
Couldn't download GPG key? No suitable access module...???

Hello to you from Duesseldorf / Germany...

I got the same problem with newer versions (>1.1.5) and i also use Avira (Antivir Premium).
The update process is blocked by Avira WebGuard. If you disable it (temporarily) it works fine.
Something changed in the way Avira or VideoLan handles the update process?!
I tried to define an exception rule in Aviras WebGuard configuration dialog without success...

How could I overread that? -.- I guess I got blinded by the thread title.
I get the message that there are no new updates.
