Lock volume at 100% to prevent master volume knob from chang

Postby John32118 » 04 Mar 2011 13:56

win7 64b vlc 1.1.6

I use the ms sound mixer to set the volumes between programs/system sounds/webpagtes/telephone etc.

I use the master volume knob on my keyboard to control the entire system volume of those balanced levels.

When using vlc, the master volume knob on my keyboard changes the vlc sound level and I want to stop that...the volume knob is very very sensitive...a slight move changes the volume from 100 to 20 or to 300%

Can I stop the master volume knob from changing the vlc level? I want to balance levels with the ms mixer and use the master volume knob to control those balanced levels only.

(i am aware that if i minimize vlc i can change the volume without affecting vlc volume but that would be a major hassle for a heavy user)

Thanks in advance

Deactivate the option for processing the media keys in VLC.

Are you referring to an option in vlc preferences? I looked all over the advanced settings and can't find it.

Or are you referring to using windows or the keyboard settings? Where do I look?

Or are you referring to deactivating the keyboard media keys for all programs?

(upgraded to 1.1.7)
