How *not* to treat your users

Postby cowwoc » 19 Jan 2011 00:14

https://trac.videolan.org/vlc/ticket/4420#comment:5

I filed a legitimate enhancement request and was told to get lost. I only reopened the issue to reply to courmisch's comments. The first time I reopened it to reply to his question. The second time I reopened it to point out that he misunderstood what I wrote.

Would someone please handle this in a more diplomatic manner? I'm more than happy to provide more information regarding my request.

Thank you,
Gili

Well, the issue, is that we cannot allow too many things on the webplugins, because website could get nasty (controlling your mouse, forcing fullscreen), so we have to disable that...

So, for you 2 solutions:
- use another interface than the webbrowsers plugins
- recompile your own plugin.

I understand. Thank you for this more detailed and diplomatic answer. Can anything can be done about courmisch's last comment? "You are now on the watch list for abusive reopeners." I'd like to be able to file bug reports and enhancement requests in the future.

You still should be able to do those things.

Do not worry, just be more careful if you reopen old bugs, that's all...
