Play or convert windows MPLS files for VLC

Postby rwally » 15 Jan 2011 02:19

Hi out there
Does anyone know or can suggest how to play or convert Windows files with an MPLS extention so that they will play in VLC?
I have blu-ray ISO movies on my hard drive. MPLS files are a play list file for Windows specific players and quite often with blu-rays the correct order for files can start anywhere i.e. files 39,2,11,43 15, etc.
At the moment i am unable to play these MPLS files with VLC which has much better codecs for smooth playback of blu-ray ISO files.
I will appreciate all assistance anyone can give me with this problem.
Thankyou.

These are not windows specific and this is certainly in the wrong forum, but yes, it would be nice to be able to play these.

In the meantime, you can use something like tsmuxer (which can read the mpls files easily) to generate a single m2ts file from the mpls file and then play that. It does take a fair amount of disk space and some time to do this before you are able to watch the m2ts though.
