VLC seems to play much louder than other audio devices on my Vista system. I normally run my Windows overall volume control at 50, and most audio/video players work well with that. I have to turn the VLC volume down around 12-25% to get the same volume. That would be OK, except the volume granularity is very coarse down there. There's a 100% jump from 12.5% to 25%. I end up turning down my Windows volume so I can run VLC in a better range, and then everything else is thrown off.
Is there any way to change the range or resolution of the VLC volume control?
