1.1.5 is screwier than a wooden watch!

Postby jimpeel » 06 Dec 2010 10:33

It freezes, seizes, and crashes. It won't play files reliably. I start a file, and then hit stop, and it won't start again. The exit X does not work when this happens.

I loaded the program the other night and it was screwy so I reloaded an earlier (1.1.1) version. I tried the new version again tonight with the same result.

I need to get back to 1.1.4 which worked wonderfully but I didn't keep that version.

Where are the old versions kept so I can reinstall 1.1.4?

HP Presario, Windows XP sp3 win 32, AMD Athlon dual core processor 3600+, 4 gb sdram.

Thanks,

j

All older versions are found on the ftp (main website, download, older versions). I've noticed the same thing on the OSX 1.1.5 release; starting a stream, then hitting stop often locks up the entire thing. It doesn't close or play anything else, I have to force quit.

http://download.videolan.org/pub/videolan/vlc/ older versions are there (look for Win32 subdirs).

installation of 1.1.5 wrecked the vlc player totally. i uninstalled it and reinstalled 1.1.4 but that changed the aspect ratio of my wmv clips, and i can't fix it!
