vlc crashing

Postby zulubase » 16 Nov 2010 09:04

I have updated the last 3/4 vlc versions & now have vs 115, all crash immediately I've tried to open them.
I am experienced, but have no indepth scientific knowledge of computers
I am running Win7 & EVERYTHING is up to date - have reluctently in despair returned to using WMP, but much prefer vlc, had no problems like this when running vlc in WinXP
I have tried re-installing, have even installed/uninstalled the Win 7 codecs, though not sure if I really need them.
Nothing shows up in the windows events log & can find nothing in the vlc directory. Be grateful for any advice
