I want to play the original video size as default mode (not just right click on video each time). I want small dimension videos to be played in the center, surrounded by black screen space, or to have VLC auto size to fit the original video dimensions for each video automatically. I have a ton of different dimension videos to be played randomly from a playlist.
I looked around the Preferences but just can't find anything obvious. Other posts offer no solution. VLC always wants to fill the screen. I need advice.

Use scale option in the video menus.
