VLC 1.1.4 unstable

Postby jsuurkula » 23 Oct 2010 23:16

It freezes heavily if one has made some repeated manoeuvres, like pausing and restarting when I wanted to record a part of a video. When reopening VLC after a freeze it is unresponsive and difficult to shut down - several repeated prompts with Task Manager is needed.

It seems to me that this release is somewhat premature.

This is the first version of VLC of all that I have used since the very beginning of VLC that has been so unstable. I hope you will come to grips with it and grateful for feedback. As it is now it is not very useful, so I am considering to look for some other media player, which is too bad as VLC has been excellent.

I have a Win7 home premium Intel core i3 computer with 3GB RAM.

BTW, why is there no bug report entry for VLC 1.1 at this forum?

Hi.
First of all. I am new to this forum, but not new to VLC player.
Thank you providing an extremely excellent player.

I too am suffering freezing problems with v 1.1.4 sometimes if I click stop, it will freeze and only close with a force shutdown from task manager.
Sometimes I can be watching an episode of a program and the bottom third of the screen goes black.
I have to change screen resolution and back to get rid of it, as it affects the video card drivers.
Gforce xtreme 8600 series.
Never experienced these problems in previous versions.
Thanks David in Lincolnshire U.K.
