.M2P Mpeg2 file with embedded close captions

Postby NathanIsaacs » 13 Oct 2010 20:58

This MPEG2 file is for TV broadcast and I need to verify that captions are encoded in to the file. It will go via a FlipFactory to a Grass Valley PVS2000 play server for broadcast.

The file plays but i don't see captions. Do VLC Player support closed caption decoding for this format?

You need to turn them on manually. use video tab, subtitle tracks, Closed Caption 1. To check a file for captions use MediaInfo program. It will report if EIA content is present by scanning beginning of file..
