dumping an rtsp stream to a file: does it work?

Postby Zingaro2002 » 13 Sep 2010 16:32

Hi!
I'm using VLC 1.1.3 on WinXP sp3

I can open and view an rtsp stream (rtsp://...).
Now I want to dump it to a file, without any demuxing.
While viewing the stream, I tried to press 'shift+d' keys but nothing happened (and nothing appeared in messages (with verbosity level=2)).
I also tried to open the stream with command line option --demux=dump and --demuxdump-file=c:\filename.avi, and also nothing happened (I succeded in opening and viewing the stream, but nothing ha sbeen dumped to disk).

Does dumping work in windows VLC version?

Is there a problem to dump rtsp streams? Why do log messages (verbosity level=2) say nothing at all?

has nobody the same problem?

Is it a bug or what?

has it been solved in nightly builds?
