Won't play DVDs on Vista x64

Postby JackBassV » 16 Sep 2010 02:04

Normally I use the Nightly versions, but downloaded the latest official release for testing this problem.

While this is true - 1.2 didn't uninstall properly. This problem only occurs with VLC 1.2. 1.1.4 works fine. Gotta find out when the nightly builds failed with dvds.

First occurred about a month ago (MPC HCx64 still played DVDs), but now that's failed too.

Tried all the normal options (deleting DVDCCS, etc,) but with no joy.

MPCHC worked fine until today (didn't use it yesterday). Looks like this problem may be related to MS updates, though I wouldn't total dismiss ATi being the problem either (both problem occurred following both Vista64hp and Catalyst updates).

Note: Tried the disk in both drives with the same result, just d: replacing E:.

yes, 1.2 DVD playback is broken on Win32 so far.
