I will jump on this thread, because this occurs to me with any video file format, and on the latest versions of VLC lately.

I have tried several times to download the VLC player, no problem downloading... but I cannot get a clear video image on ANY file types. The video is very choppy and only a ghost image is visible in the background. I am using Windows XP and can't afford to upgrade. Has anyone figured out how to fix this problem? I need help.

I'm thinking this perhabs is due to multiple processors. I myself are having duo core.

Hmmm.... It seems to be alright now that I tried this:

Tools > Preferences > Video > Outpout > Direct3D video output (the 2nd one of the two).

But multitasking back to World of Warcraft after pausing VLC can take like 5-10 seconds.

Still getting rid of that annoying choppiness is worth it.

Hey there. I'm also having a similar problem. When I try to play VLC files on my VLC player (latest version), the image is choppy and keeps freezing and pixelating. I have no problem playing other files on it, however. Does anyone know what I should do? Tried changing to Direct 3D video output, but it had no effect.

Thanks!
