No Sutable Decoder Module

Postby jhorak101 » 08 Sep 2010 00:13

Hello to all this is my first Post My question involves playing an MPG4 format I get a message that says "No suitable decoder module" VLC does not support audio or video format "avc1" unfortunately there is no way to fix this. I will say that MPG will play just fine. I found out about VLC player by listening to the "TechGuy" Leo Laporte on Talk radio out of California.

Thanks.

Open Tools -> Messages (set Verbosity to 2) before you start the playback and then paste the resulting log here.

I have seen some foreign-made DVDs with this problem--they have bad data in a header and VLC swears it doesn't know what to do with them, but an actual DVD player plays them fine.
