full screen wont window upon double click.

Postby lumpking69 » 30 Jun 2010 09:57

So heres what happens. I open a video file and double click the picture to make it full screen. Once its full screen I double click the picture again to minimize it again and have it go back to being a window. Problem is that sometimes this doesn't happen. It seems like no matter how many times I double click it it wont reduce. So I then hit the windows key or click on my second monitor (to steal focus) and VLC then suddenly accepts the double clicks. It will go from window to full screen a number of times. So if I double clicked it while it was stuck in full screen 10 times it will jump from full to window 5 times. It does this in a matter of seconds so its a real blur and it goes nuts. The video and audio aren't interrupted during this event.

I have an nvidia gtx 275 with latest drivers and win 7 pro 64bit and this problem only started after I installed vlc 1.1.0

If further info is required pls feel free to hit me up with a post and ill respond promptly.

I thank you all ahead of time.

Just thought I would quickly post that the problem is still occurring. I tested it with v1.1.2 and the nightlies. No luck and it still happens.

I am experiencing this same exact issue. I can't figure out the exact set of circumstances with which this can be reproduced, but the OP's description is correct.

To me, it seems like VLC suddenly starts "ignoring" all double click requests for a while... and then it'll suddenly acknowledge all the clicks, and will very quickly fullscreen and come back many times (as many times as you clicked). Almost like there's a significant lag, during which the fullscreen controls are nonresponsive. During this time, right clicking on the video doesn't produce anything, either.

However, video and audio continues playing normally throughout all of this.

So glad to read that I'm not alone. If the problem gets on your nerves (as it does mine) you can just roll back to anything below 1.1 and it will work just fine. I have been using 1.0.5 and I am free of this issue.

I pray its fixed by 1.1.3 but who knows.....

I actually have the same issue(double click or even right-click not responding sometimes on full screen).... but its only happened to me since the latest version vlc-1.1.2-win32, I used before older versions on which it does not happen: vlc-0.8.6-win32, vlc-1.0.3-win32, vlc-1.0.5-win32

Although it does respond again by pressing any keys (or Space Bar - PAUSE/PLAY) with the keyboard or with the mouse scrolling up or down (in which changes the volume), it actually makes it respond again.... eitherway this issue is a hassle and it needs fixing

Just incase if it matters my hardware.....

all see if i can add to your ticket/post. I had to uninstall vs 1.1.2 .. and it was hard lol i tried 4 Vs before i decide to check: help>about only to find out that it was still vs 1.1.2 i had to manually delete: program86x\VideoLan\ -delete it all... but ya 1.0.5 works fine for me

also i was wondering if 1.1.2 gave you this issue> video output set to OpenGL go in full screen and then u get msg from win7 windows experience has changed.. basically changes your theme to basic and you lose all transparency ?

i use to have this issue and still do if i keep it to the default video output (directX i think)

I just wanted to quickly touch base and say that the problem still occurs with 1.1.3 , no change at all. I will update my ticket as well.

Just as an update, this issue is still present with version 1.1.4. It is most unfortunate since it significantly reduces the daily usability of VLC.

The problem is still very much alive in the 1.1.5 nightly also. I'm still waiting and hoping but i keep switching back to older versions to evade the problem.

Just wanted to say the problem is still very much present in 1.1.11 and the latest nightly. Is there any hope in sight for a fix or perhaps an tips to avoid this?
