Default Volume Problems Since Upgrade To 1.1.2.

Postby Son of Spam » 02 Aug 2010 04:22

The default volume is pretty low. It used to be that if you turned the volume up all the way, you'd hear distortion. Now, the audio is so low that even at 200% it barely sounds like 100%. I've set the volume in the Audio Preferences but it's still too low.

Any suggestions?

I also just realized what's been happening:

it seems the audio channels are either constantly switching or something. I've checked my speakers and they're working fine. I also played files with WMP and they sound fine as well.

So this leads me to believe it's something in my VLC configuration.

Volume you set in QT4 interface is different from core volume, but if channels are switching or glitching constantly then issue isn't volume level thing. Could you share us short sample file that can be used to replicate the issue?

Yeah, I'll upload something soon and post a link.

The reason I say it seems like the channels are switching is because the levels are constantly going up and down within songs.

We'll see.

No problems with Santanta. Does it help if you change audio output module?
