Postby koroptev » 28 Jul 2010 08:28

some regression had to occur: viewtopic.php?f=34&t=75766
this exactly describes what I'm experiencing, including the log: avcodec debug: codec not found (Text subtitles with various tags)

No, this isn't the same bug. Can you share the file, please?

Let's say I could have seen this on some guy's computer in public library from behind his shoulder, where he was watching something that had title like "Avatar 720p Bluray x264-CBGB" or so and that he could have told me all of his mkv movies from similar source (was it torrent or something like this?) experienced this behavior. He could possibly get some info from VLC playing this file, if you were interested and gave him instructions :-)

No, you reported the issue so you post a sample.

So please, cut a SHORT sample of this file, 20-30 MB should be enough.
Cut a chunk and upload it to some file sharing site like Rapidshare or Megaupload.

Use DGsplit and read here how to do it:

it's already uploaded - 42MB sample is part of that torrent, you don't need to download it all; in case this info is not helpful, I'll do my best, when I get hojme (= I'll ask the guy in library to download that 42MB sample & to upload it for you)

ok, I have to apologize, I'm sorry, and admit I'm - in this particular case - ass_hole; I've made some testing and looks like there's only 1 file I have problems with and this file in fact displays subtitles in certain scenes; so the only strange thing that remains is this message in log when I enable the subtitles: avcodec debug: codec not found (Text subtitles with various tags); if this is not normal & I could help by uploading sample, please let me know & I'll do so
