Unattended operation

Postby Charle387 » 01 Jul 2010 17:40

Is there a way to have VLC continue running when a Internet connection cannot be made?
Similarly, is there a way to know if an existing Internet connection drops out, and then for VLC to continue?

I run a very low power FM station located at my church. It uses VLC to tune into various Internet stations during the program week. Occasionally, a station's signal is not available on the Internet, for unknown reasons. When this happens, VLC throws an error message that requires my intervention before anything else will happen. Since the FM station runs unattended, this causes 'dead air', which is certainly not wanted.

Is there a way to tell VLC to try the connection again in X minutes, in either or both of the conditions above?

Thanks for ideas and pointers.

...Charlie

Playlist repeat might help.
