Installation loses preferences?

Hi,

I just upgraded from VLC1.09 to VLC1.10, and, during the installation, I had VLC keep my preferences. However, they were gone.

The preferences I had set in 1.09 were that audio retain its prior setting when a file gets closed (audio level persistence,) and that VLC allow multiple instances when launched from a file.

Both of these settings were lost when VLC1.10 was installed.

Any idea why this happens?
