Pixelation in screenshots, if jpeg is set

Postby rightman » 22 Jun 2010 18:02

Hi,

I have the error of mosaic like pixelation when I make screenshots in jpeg of HD-ts files.
If i make them in png everything is ok.

That only occur when I screenshot my HD-TV Ts-files. low-res content is fine.
And only when jpeg is set as screenshot file format.

That error was present with an Ati 4850 card and even now with a Nvidia GTX470.

It persists in the new 1.1.0 build too.

I use Win7 x64

The issue is just with higher resolutions?

Yes. I made screenshots of a PAL avi and a PAL Mpeg and there is no issue with jpeg screenshots.

But again on my fullHD TS-file from my Satellite HD Receiver i get those mosaic layer on top

Screenshot one is a jpeg of the trailer Rio published by the Apple trailer website, you can see the mosaic
And the second shot is from the ts-file recorded by my HD-receiver, there you can see the mosaic better.

I can't I can only try PAL FullHD oh and I could get a 720p trailer as well. I will report if the error occurs on 720p too.

I think below 720p it starts, because at 720p there is a little mosaic too.

Form your opinion with that 720p screenshot.

The 720p Video was this trailer.

http://trailers.apple.com/movies/sony_p ... _h720p.mov

The 1080p was my own recorded file:

http://rapidshare.com/files/401805961/A ... taff-FD.ts

I can't make shorter snippets, I have no software to edit the 1080p-TS-files.

And 1080p Trailer:
