Blue Video color

Postby cmx » 25 Jul 2005 13:05

So I have a Laptop which is a p3 450 with 128 MB or ram. Running windows XP.
I downloaded VLC media player and when I try to play a avi, divx or xvid file the picture has no colur except blue. Mpeg files seem to run ok.

I 've tried fiddling around with the settings to no avail and I downloaded and installed the K-lite full codec pack and the AC3 codec as well.

If anyone can help me with this problem I would greatly appreciate it.

This issue has been seen before and i believe it comes from limitations of your video card. It is called the smurf effect.

Basically any change to your videocard driver settings that will make more Video memory available (like turning down the amount of colors, the resolution or the refresh rate) should fix the problem. (or just get a newer video card with more video memory)
