vlc firefox plugin problem

Postby reubenb » 18 Jun 2010 16:12

I have installed the vlc firefox plugin, and uninstalled or disabled all other firefox media plugins. When I attempt open an audio file from a website I get a blank screen. How do I get vlc to open and play these files?

Google Chrome plays these files with no trouble, but it's not using vlc

I'm having the same problem with video files. I also had this problem with the previous version, except now the "Waiting for video" text has been removed and its just a black screen. In fact, some checking around the forums suggests this problem has existed since 2009. I'm running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit and Firefox 3.6.

Me too.
I have installed VLC 1.1.0. When I try to open a flv-file in Firefox 3.6.6 the VLC-Plugin does nothing. There is a black side. Even if I configure VLC media file (.flv) explicite as VLC multi media plug in.
Windows XP prof SP3.

Just I see the info (video/x-flv-Object). Is this different to a "flv-file"?
