more than likely your song is corrupt or a section is missing in the middle. if you downloaded it from somewhere check the size against the bitrate and length to make sure it lines up. As i came to this topic it reminded me though that vlc does stop all files about half a second before the end. with a looping song this becomes very obvious. I made a lot of audio files in audacity and i fade them out before the end of the song and vlc always cuts them off before the end of the file. its only about 500 ms but its huge on a 30 second audio file. its not something i need an explanation for just that it should be mentioned to the developers.
