DVD-chapter auto-resize problem

Postby c3bhm » 17 Apr 2010 05:27

OK, here is another problem that has been around for a LONG time now, and I'm not seeing it get fixed.

When playing a DVD and changing the resolution to other than original or fullscreen, the native resolution pops the size back to normal at each chapter.

I've seen numerous posts about this bug and all I see is a ridiculous workaround that almost acts like this isn't A BUG THAT NEEDS TO BE FIXED. I don't want to have to click around SEVEN times to change this option for each DVD that I play. And I don't want to leave the workaround's preference that way for all videos: I like to have VLC start all videos in their native resolution, and then simply drag-adjust them once for however I like it for the duration of the video. That seems pretty reasonable.

CAN YOU PLEASE FIX THIS BUG?!? Or am I missing something? Seems like this has been floating around for a year now....... Can it be THAT hard to fix?

Have you tried 1.1.0 nightly builds?

Just tried 1.1.0 and it crashes every time I try to open a DVD with it. The baby went out with the bathwater....sheesh.

(And when I play a simple .avi file, the color is all wacky...blue/purple hue everywhere... sheesh(x2)...)
