windows 7 color scheme / video output issue

Postby cybmole » 09 Apr 2010 12:25

I put VLC onto my new win 7 home premium PC & copies over my old preferences ( fom XP). now whenever I launch an AVI, windows tells me it is having tto switch to vista basic colour schem because of an incompatibility.
does not hapeen if I view same avi files in other players, so I guess I need to tweak my VLC preferences.
what needs changing please & why ?

update:
seems I was using directx video output before, changing it to default sorts the issue but what is the best setting for windows 7 please. drop down menu offers 10 choices with 2 apparently identical directx3d options ???
