PC to TV, Close Lid, Video Shifts

Postby MoneyAddyct » 30 Mar 2010 05:52

Hey guys. I have VLC 1.05 installed on my new Windows 7 65-bit ASUS laptop. I have linked to my TV via a PC to TV Converter box. While I have the settings set to "do nothing" when you close the lid, when I close the lid the video shifts from being centered on my TV screen to being shifted to the left. Any idea how to fix this or why it happens? My old laptop had an S-video port, so I just used an S-video to composite video cable and never had this problem. Thanks!

Lid closing removes one of the desktops?

It shouldn't. I don't have it set to make the TV an extended desktop; it's set up to be a clone.

Does VLC message log (Tools -> Messages... and set verbosity to 2) complain something when it happens?

Hi, I have my windows 7 laptop connected by HDMI lead to my tv and as like others when I close the lid the picture on my tv shrinks to the upper left hand side. When using something like nero media hub it stays full screen.

is it VLC itself that changes size or the whole screen, because closing the lid turns off a screen on the videocard causing the other monitor to become primary which you cannot disable. if there is only one screen on windows vista or above that screen becomes primary and will refresh. its possible the refresh causes a directx reload of VLC. causing it to jump to the normal output size of the video

Does this happen with all video output modules?
