Counter and slider problem

Postby blingo » 11 Dec 2006 11:46

One reason i have to use Media Player Classic sometimes is because in VLC when playing .ts files i sometimes dont get the duration of the movie or how much its played so far and there is no slider for me to rewind or froward. Not sure if this is a bug.

Seen this happen in 0.8.5 and .6

Any idea anyone?

I cant fast forward or rewind at all, and the clock displays 0:00:00

Because VLC is more a streaming-oriented player, it doesn't look for and use lengths on transport streams even when they come from a file (instead of the network). Mpeg Transport Stream files are the most likely issue you're seeing.

I realize this is an old post, but I am having the same problem and I need to know where I am in the video. Is there a solution to this or is there another player that someone can recommend? Thanks.

Known issue. Might be fixed in 1.1.0
