WMAP error on 1.0.3

Postby hairy_scot » 19 Jan 2010 20:57

Trying to play WMV file on VLC Media Player 1.0.3 I get 'No suitable decoder module. VLC does not support the audio or video format "WMAP". Unfortunately there is no way for you to fix this.'

Running Vista Business X64 at latest update level and VLC media player also at latest level.

Can anything be done??

You have tried 1.1.0 nightly builds?

You have tried 1.1.0 nightly builds?
Can you expand on that response please?
Have no idea what that means.
I did check for available updates on VLC Media Player and received "You have latest version of VLC media player"

Have now sussed that out, and, no I have not tried nightly builds, prefer to wait for stable solution.

Thanks for the info.

Run VLC with the DMO switch like this:

Code: Select all

VLC --codec dmo
But because of a little bug, and even with the DMO switch, you may need to disable the audio in the Audio menu and then to enable it back for the audio track to be heard.
