I can't figure out what errors there might be because if I don't reset the cache files, the program won't open... once I clear the cache and reset the preferences, it works just fine... no other problems...This happens even if you just open VLC once, close it immediately, restart computer and start VLC?
Well, I mean, it doesn't even open enough to close it... nothing happens, and when I try to open it again, it says "VLC media player just crashed. Would you like to send a bug report to the developers' team?" I click "Yes", and nothing more happens...Yes... I'm more geared toward hardware troubleshooting, if you know what I mean...You know how to run software in gdb?
Tell me about it... normally, I'd disable all the software that might interfere with the program... but, since I don't know, I have to go through them all one-by-one, I guess...For us it is hard to figure out the reason for the crash without debug info.
