How Can I Pre-fetch VLC Player to Load Faster?

Postby taurusx5 » 24 Sep 2009 20:10

How can I set up a program to start up quickly? When I click on the desktop icon for VLC player, it takes 8 secs to load up. Is there a way to add VLC player as a pre-fetch so that when I click on it, it loads up faster?

8 secs is too much (unless you use very old computer). Removing %appdata%\vlc should create new cache and hopefully make the startup faster.

Enter %appdata% into the address bar in Explorer. The actual directory is C:\Documents and Settings\*user*\Application Data but that is hidden.

(to enable the address bar right click to the left of the menu in the explorer window, unlock the task bars, add the address bar and move it if necessary)
