Audio problems for a newb

Postby Serayha » 24 Sep 2009 10:23

i have only recently downloaded the new VLC. i have never had a problem with vlc until now.

I'm running windows xp.
when playing an avi file, every few seconds, the audio kind of pauses. it runs smoothly, picture doesnt pause and it doesnt go out of sync.. its like, someone is pushing mute every few seconds. All settings are set to default, as i dont really know much about it all,

Please help a poor newb out.

Thanking You in advance.

same thing here, but I wouldn't describe it as mute but rather like someone knocking against the record player. (little break in the audio)

Can you try to reset preferences?
And then change audio outputs, if issue still holds?
