cant stream more than one file

Postby mr.bryce » 11 Sep 2009 13:17

Hello,

i am trying to stream multiple (audio mp3) files or a single playlist.

using the wizard i select the files and click open. Now they appear in the list.

I click stream then output then i select HTTP and add.

then i click stream again.

when i connect to my stream, i can hear the first song alright, but at the end of song the player gets disconnected.

VLC keeps playing the files listed but apart from the first song they are played locally.

How can i stream multiple files to network or better how do i stream a playlist (m3u) to network ?

Thanks for any help.

i m using windows vista and vlc 1.0.0

this is the commandline i gathered and compiled from my searches :

C:\Users\bruno\Programs\VLC>vlc.exe "c:\mp1.mp3" "c:\mp2.mp3" --sout=#transcode{acodec=wma2,ab=1
28,channels=2,samplerate=44100}:std{access=http,mux=asf,dst=0.0.0.0:8080}

adding --sout-keep at the end of command line prevents the client (player) to reconnect for the following song.

i still get disconnected atthe end of the first song.

using VLC 1.0.0 on windows vista, firewall is configured correctly.

executing the following commandline :

C:\Users\bruno\Programs\VLC>vlc.exe -vvv "c:\pl.m3u" --sout=#transcode{acodec=wma2,ab=128,channels=2,samplerate=44100}:std{access=http,mux=asf,dst=0.0.0.0:8080} --sout-keep

VLC starts streaming.

on distant computer, i launch VLC 1.0.1, connect to the stream. The first file in m3u is playing fine.

End of song, silence, after a few seconds, VLC client stops.
on streaming computer, VLC is playing the second song of playlist, but i cant here it either from the streaming computer or distant computer.

if i try to reconnect distant VLC, buffer hangs at 11%
i cant reconnect with WMP either.
